March, 19th. Students of SPbUHSS won the International Forum-Contest of performing mastery “St. Petersburg’s Spring”.

St. Petersburg Creative Center “Inspiration” held the contest under the support of the city’s authorities and European Center of the festivals and cultural programs for children and youth (Austria).

There was highly professional jury in the contest: professors of St. Petersburg State Conservatory named after Rimsky-Korsakov, Russian Merited and People’s Artists, Laureates of international contests. The jury was headed by Merited Artist of Russian Federation, Philharmonic concertmaster Alexander Shustin.

The Forum-Contest was attended by about 500 soloists and 80 teams from Russia, Belorussia, Slovakia, Poland, France, and Korea.

In the category "Piano Mastery" about a hundred participants competed. The piano duet of SPbUHSS students, Arts Faculty, Timur Butaev (third-year student) and Asya Urbanova (first-year student), won the highest prize of the contest in their category – Laureate Diploma of II degree. Diploma of I degree was not awarded for teams.

The students were trained for the contest by assistant professor of the Audio Engineering Department, Merited Worker of Culture of Russian Federation Elena Polekhina.
