Scientific Library of Saint-Petersburg University of Humanities and Social Sciences

The University’s Scientific Library is founded in 1926, in 2009 it was names in honor of the distinguish writer and Honorable Doctor of SPbUHSS Daniil Granin.

It is situated on the large modern well-equipped area. The reading hall is one of the largest among the libraries of the institutes of the North-West, leading in its facilities and unique design. There is free WI-FI zone, Internet-hall called and designed as “Yellow Submarine”.

The general book fund keeps about 600000 editions in all the spheres of humanity knowledge.

In the fund of the Library there are very rare and precious editions.

The fund keeps also editions published in the University’s typography, works of teachers and students.

More than 7000 readers attend Scientific Library.

All the librarian informational processes are fully automatic. Electronic catalogs are non-stop enriched, contain the description of all the librarian fund, accessible from any computer of the University’s net and also on the page of Scientific Library. A lot of links of the world librarian and informational recourses are also there. The Library gives for its users a possibility to order books in advance.

Many actions are held in the Library: the reading course “Literary meetings”, exhibitions, presentations of books of the distinguished writers, scientists and social persons.
