Associated professor Konstantin Bronzit, department of the Directing Multimedia, SPbUHSS, Russian animator, international prizes laureate, a member of the “National Center of Cinematography and the moving image”, a member of the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences “Oskar” became a winner of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France with the animation film “We can’t Live without Space”.

A stage director, scriptwriter, painter Konstantin Bronzit works at SPbUHSS more than 10 years. Since 2003 teaches students of the Faculty of Arts an author’s course “Computer graphics and animation”.

The Annecy International Animation Film Festival is one of the most significant events on the animation market. It was established in 1960 as an extension of Cannes festival section “International Animation Days”. Awards are given in three main categories: short films, feature films and television animated films.

Konstantin Bronzit’s animation film “We can’t Live without Space” was recognized as the best short film of 2015.

This film lasting 15 minutes tells the story of two friends dreaming from the childhood to become astronauts and fly to the stars. Heroes become older and do their best to fulfill their dream. Subjects of friendship, striving to a dream and the role of science in world transformations are raised in the film.

The award ceremony was held on June 20, 2015 in the main theatre of Annecy. The new animation film of the teacher of SPbUHSS was awarded not at first time: Konstantin Bronzit’s work won the animation prize “Icarus” (Moscow) in the main category “The Film”. Konstantin Bronzit is also winner of such well-known awards as Cesar, Nika and the Golden Eagle for the others works.
