Mr. Churov, Chairman of the Russian Central Election Commission, SPbUHSS professor, during many years has been giving lectures to the University students, participate in the International Likhachov Scientific Conference and other significant scientific and cultural events held by the University. Recently Prof. Churov gave a lecture “Start to Life” during the Day of Knowledge September 1, 2015.

Lectures and speeches given at the SPbUHSS in 2002-2014 are in the book presented by Prof. Churov at the biggest Book Fair.

These works cover a wide range of issues: different aspects of socioeconomic development of the country, cultural and moral formation of personality, modern education and upbringing. A special attention is paid to the dialogue of cultures in the contemporary world.

The book is mostly devoted to the subject of author’s professional interest - the development of democratic institutions in Russia and abroad, in particular electoral systems in different countries, the electoral law and its implementation.

In his lectures and speeches Prof. Churov appeals to young people, to the new generation of compatriots who will have to find answers to the various challenges that Russia faces.

The book is addressed to a wide audience.
