Tour of the ballet «Up & Down» from St-Petersburg Academic Ballet Theatre of the honorary doctor of SPbUHSS Boris Eifman has passed with triumph in the USA and Canada. SPbUHSS graduate German Mazhirin was one of this choreographic performance’ stage directors.

The ballet «Up & Down» is put on the novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald “Tender Is the Night”. Its’ world premiere became one of the central events of the 38^th season of this distinguished theatre and made a furor among dance art connoisseurs in Europe and Northern America. The world media consider one of the reasons of such a success the atmosphere of 20-ies of 20^th century that was recreated through dances of the Époque of Jazz.

Trying to achieve the maximum dance perfection Boris Eifman has invited well-known dancer and teacher German Mazhirin to direct this part of the program.

German Mazhirin graduated from SPbUHSS, Faculty of Arts in 1996, specialty “Folk Art Culture (Choreography)”. Hi is a founder and director of the ballroom dance group “Russian Style” (St-Petersburg), the winner if Gran-Prix of Russia among professionals, the winner of TV-show “Dances with Stars”, St-Petersburg’ champion in Latina dances among amateurs (1996), finalist of Russian championship among professionals (2010).
