December 26. SPBUHSS students won 8th International Contest of Performing Arts “St. Petersburg’s Christmas Assemblies”.

December 26. SPBUHSS students Timur Butaev (4-year student) and Asya Urbanova (2-year student) of Faculty of Arts won 8th International Contest of Performing Arts “St. Petersburg’s Christmas Assemblies”.

Contest of Performing Arts “St. Petersburg’s Christmas Assemblies” is being held under the support of the Committee on Culture of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region and also St. Petersburg State Philharmonic named after Dmitry Shostakovich. Professors of St. Petersburg State Conservatory and School of Music named after Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov, Honored and People’s Artists of Russian Federation, laureates of international contests were among the members of jury. Mr. Alexander Shustin, Honored Artist of Russia, Professor of St. Petersburg State Conservatory and the concertmaster of St. Petersburg State Philharmonic led the jury.

More than 400 soloists and duets and 60 teams from Russia, Belorussia, Slovakia, Ireland, France, Korea, China, Japan, USA participated in the contest this year.

Piano duet of SPbUHSS students received Diploma of the 1st Degree. Ms. Elena Polekhina, Associate Professor of the Department, Honored Worker of Culture of Russian Federation, member of the Union of Concert Figures of St. Petersburg prepared winners for the contest.
